Inclusive Teaching Special Interest Group

One way in which we aim to create conditions throughout Oxford where excellence in teaching and assessment can thrive is by bringing educators, administrators and students together through our facilitated education communities.

The communities offer different opportunities for staff to enhance and support their practice – from open networks and user groups, to special interest groups.

One of these is the Inclusive Teaching Special Interest Group (Inclusive Teaching SIG). Find out about our other groups

What is the Inclusive Teaching SIG?

This group brings together staff from across the collegiate University who wish to discuss and develop ways to effectively meet the institutional anticipatory duty towards disabled students at Oxford under the Equality Act.

The group is facilitated by the Centre for Teaching and Learning and organised via Teams.

Sessions are held in-person and online during the year, and provide opportunities to network, share good practices and experiences, and contribute to projects led by the Centre in the area of inclusive teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Who is the Inclusive Teaching SIG for?

The group is relevant to staff who wish to develop their practice relating to effective ways of meeting the institutional anticipatory duty towards disabled students under the Equality Act. The group may be especially relevant for disability leads or others working to embed inclusive practices at Oxford. The group is open to all academic and professional services staff at Oxford with an active interest and/or remit in practising, developing or supporting inclusive teaching.
