Important eduroam news for everyone at Oxford
If you are returning to Oxford, you must take action to reconnect to the eduroam Wi-Fi service - find out what you need to do
On 5 March 2021, the security certificate for connecting to eduroam expired and a new security certificate was added.
This means that everyone connecting to eduroam using a laptop, phone or tablet computer will need to set up Wi-Fi on their device again to use eduroam.
How to update your eduroam settings
The easiest way to reconfigure is to go to your Wi-Fi settings and 'forget' your existing eduroam network entry.
Then go to the eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT) and follow the device-specific instructions that will appear on screen.
For mobile devices:
- Android users will find it most straightforward to download and run the eduroam CAT app.
- iOS users should visit the CAT installer using the Safari web browser and follow the instructions from there.
Further details are available on our connecting to eduroam page on the IT Services Help website.
