Oxford Essentials is a half-day induction event held in September each year for newly appointed academic, teaching and research staff.

What are the aims of the event?
The aims of the event are to:

welcome you formally to the University

introduce you to teaching at Oxford
-
introduce the workings of the University to those of you who are new to Oxford and/or to the UK, and to provide essential, need-to-know information.
The event includes a formal welcome to the University by the Vice-Chancellor, presentations about the University, and workshops about different aspects of teaching and learning at Oxford.
Requirements for the course
Academic, teaching and research staff who commenced at Oxford since October 2021, or who will be starting in the 2022-23 academic year.
